About Us
We are a group of Southland based Health professionals with a wide range of outdoor and travel experience and interests. In 2008 one of our group was looking to attend an AWLS course and found that there were none run outside of the United States. At the time it seemed like a good idea to try and organise and run an AWLS course in New Zealand, and things have grown from that initial light bulb moment.
Over the short few years we have been running the courses we have met some amazing adventuring health professionals, some of who have gone on to become recognised and respected AWLS instructors with us. We have had practical support and back up from the AWLS faculty in the US who have visited us and taught on some of our courses. We continue to run courses in New Zealand and will be introducing the extended course curriculum in 2012, together with some approved local content and exciting innovations such as the Humpridge Track courses starting from December 2011.
